The coverage period for the SMM weekly lithium carbonate-related data points (such as weekly production, weekly production by raw material, and weekly operating rate) originally released on April 30 was 6 days (April 25 - April 30), while the coverage period for the weekly data originally released on May 8 was 8 days (May 1 - May 8).
To ensure the consistency and comparability of the weekly data, the weekly data released on April 30 and May 8 have now been adjusted to 7-day production data to more accurately reflect the production dynamics of lithium carbonate.
During the Labour Day holiday, the overall operating rate of upstream lithium chemical plants declined. Affected by the continuous decline in lithium carbonate prices, the production enthusiasm of upstream lithium chemical plants weakened. During the Labour Day holiday, some upstream lithium chemical plants opted for short-term minor maintenance, leading to a temporary decline in the industry's overall operating rate. As maintenance concluded, the operating status of lithium carbonate production has gradually recovered. It is worth noting that, driven by the slight rebound in futures market prices during this period, some lithium chemical plants may have locked in profits through hedging, thereby further promoting a rebound in the operating rate. Going forward, attention should be paid to the impact of changes in the supply-demand pattern and price trends on the industry's production rhythm.
